PTV-Investing.com Daily Blog

Hello.  I'm Andy and I watch the markets.

By day, I'm a software engineer.  At night I map geometric relationships between price and time of various markets and stocks.

I have studied some of WD Gann writings which led me to Bill McLaren and Michael Jenkins.  I have read McLaren's Gann Made Easy which isn't easy to find, but is available if you look hard enough.... meaning Google it.  Jenkins' book "Geometry of the Stock Markets" can be found at Amazon and other places.  I recommend McLaren's book as he appears to understand Gann and had turned the book/course into a study for practical trading.

My technique is a combination of Gann, McLaren, Jenkins, and Askey.  I got the impression that Gann was disgusted by those who wanted the "holy grail" but didn't want to take the time to understand it.  My thoughts are that Gann gave enough information to convey all he knew but he refused to just give it to anyone.  My technique may or may not be what Gann did.  But I believe Gann would approve of it because I used the available information to understand the price/time relationships of the market and create my own technique based on the core kinematic principles he discussed.

I try to update the free charts once a week, but this is subject to family and work commitments.  Subscriber charts and information is updated weekly.  This is all that is necessary for the timeframes I look at.  I believe my technique will work in any timeframe and could be used for day trading.  Day trading would require a dynamic charting system that charts price/time relationships fast enough to allow for this information to be used before the setup expires.  I'm sure this could be done with real-time data and the right charting system, but I do not have access to these.

Feel free to email me if you don't understand what I present.
