I’ve read the title phase on several forums many times in the past few months and it always make a cringe. Just who is a “serious student of Gann“? Is it someone who wants to know everything about WD Gann? I guess that may be a good thing for the History Channel. Or is it someone who wants to know everything Gann knew? That does not seem possible.
I’m pretty good with basic physics, F=MA, for example. But I am not a student of Newton. I really don’t care that much about Newton. I’m sure he was a fine fellow. And I would watch a show about him on the History Channel if I found one. I use geometry in charting and software algorithm design all the time. But I can say I really would not give two bits to meet Euclid.
My point being - I find the methods of Gann useful. Some of the stuff I read on the internet makes WD Gann appear to have magical powers. He was just some guy - a smart guy. He figured stuff out and sold some courses for money. My suggestion is to stop worrying about WWGD (what would Gann do) and just watch the charts. He told us a lot of what we need to know. Use it. Don’t wax poetic about the wonders of Gann.
Then again, I’m on my second glass of Schnapps tonight…
