More detailed analysis and industry/sector work is available as a Premium Content service.
Should I subscribe to the Premium Content Service?
I have two general category of subscribers.
The first group wants to see more indices charted and workups in individual industries and sectors. They occasionally ask about specific industries and time frames not yet covered and I try to meet those requests if my data allows that analysis.
The second group are those who appreciate my efforts and want to say thank you and help to pay for my personal expenses used to purchase data, software, and services.
The $15 trial is the cost of one round trip trade and allows you to determine if the additional charts and industry/sector views will provide information you can use.
If you do not require more information than is available for free, then no, you do not need to subscribe. If the $15 trial cost is a lot of money to you, then no, you should not subscribe.
Blog Posts
My blog posts are a stream of consciousness that capture what I am seeing and thinking – usually at the end of the day. Some days I won’t have anything to post and some days I will post multiple times. I will keep my topics to price, time, and volume analysis. I will occasionally pass on hearsay from other websites, blogs, television, and news media I have encountered. I have a lot of opinions in areas outside of price, time, and volume analysis. But I do not want to waste my time posting about those here. I will appreciate it if comments are limited to the market action and influences on market action. Market mechanics, such as the put/call ratio and open interest, along with sentiment and unnatural pressure days, such as holidays and tax days, are valid topics.
Trading the Cycles
Please read the PTV-Investing.com Disclaimer before considering any market actions based on the information at this site. I have found that reading the cycles and profiting from the cycles are two entirely different animals. I have been completely right on the cycles and still lost money because I did not trade them correctly. This site alone is not intended to, and in fact WILL NOT, provide you with all the information necessarily for profitable trading.
There are many good books on investing and trading available that you should read before attempting to put money into the markets. I have read and recommend these books.
If you are already a seasoned trader, you don’t need me to tell you what and how to trade. If you are just starting out my only advice is to start very small and give the majority of your money to a good mutual fund manager. Morningstar.com or Investors Business Daily provide lists of the best performing mutual funds – pick one or more of the best.
About the Author
I am a full time software engineer and a full time father and husband. The family always has me going somewhere when not at work. If you comment on a post or send an email to me directly, I may not respond to it for a few days. And while sometimes I may find it more interesting to respond to you, the blog and related topics are the third priority my life. My wife says so.
In my spare time I chart the markets and analyze the pictures. I use geometry to easily find the relative strength and position of the current market versus price action of many months or years gone by. My blog posts show the pictures I am viewing with some analysis. If you follow the charts for a few weeks then you should be able to recreate the geometries yourself.
I do not do anything mystical. I use Stockcharts.com and Gannalyst to draw the charts. Stockcharts.com provides the ability to draw the approximate geometries quickly. Gannalyst requires more setup but provides more accuracy and also provides Gann specific tools not available elsewhere. My goal is NOT to always know what is going to happen. My goal IS to know what has happened before and what is currently happening. Sometimes this information will allow an educated guess as to what and/or when the next move will be. I have found that eventually the future will present itself if I watch the past long enough – so that is what I do.
I do not offer investing advice in any form. When I do post on a specific stock, I use it as an example only. Please do not trade/invest based on any chart I post here. Use the information I provide in addition to your own analysis. More about the site author.
