Price reversed to the upside on volume today. I am still waiting for price to take out the October 14th high before I get interested again. Continue reading

Rally Day Nine - Another Test of the Low

October 23rd, 2008 2 Comments

The SP500 Index tested the October 10 low again and reversed back up on higher volume today. This action is an accumulations day. Unfortunately, the Nasdaq ended the day about 0.7% lower on higher volume which is distribution. The Dow moved similar to the SPX in an accumulation day. Continue reading

Accumulation Day and Possibly a Follow Through

October 16th, 2008 9 Comments

This chart show definite accumulation today. Technically, today was also a follow through day with a 1.7% move on higher volume. But price remains well be low the high and I want to see price exceed this high on volume before I relax a little. Continue reading

Double Bottom Accumulation Day on SPX

September 11th, 2008 No Comments

The SPX and COMPQ had accumulation days after a big gap down today. Both remain below the 50 day moving average and I am not ready to call a bottom without real buying next week. Continue reading

NDX Remains Below 1×1 Gann Angle

August 28th, 2008 2 Comments

The Nasdaq 100 cannot break through the significant 1:1 Gann angle as it provides resistance. If this happens then price should move higher quickly. Continue reading

Possible A-B-C Correction Complete

August 26th, 2008 2 Comments

High Volume Up Week for Markets

July 18th, 2008 No Comments

Today was a good pause on lower volume for the SP500 Index (SPX) and DOW (INDU). The SPX is within 2% of a monthly high while the DOW is up for the month of July. The NDX had a lower volume down day. But a couple big stocks knocked it down and they could be where the markets wants them now. Continue reading

Accumulation Day for the Indices

July 17th, 2008 2 Comments

Price movement on higher volume than the previous day is good. The follow-through needs to occur after the third day to be meaningful. But it is never a bad thing to have a high volume move up off a low. Continue reading

Bounce is One Year from SP500 Selloff Last July

July 16th, 2008 No Comments

Today is July 16th 2008 and we had a large volume up day. It remains to be seen if this was a short term reflex reaction on the 52 week anniversary, or if a sustained move up occurs. Continue reading

Good (not great) Day on High Volume

July 10th, 2008 No Comments

Volume was up on the SP500 Index (SPX) and Powershares QQQ Trust (QQQQ). Price was up over 1% but below the high of yesterday. Price needs to take out the recent highs quickly or the oversold condition will work itself off and bulls will be in big trouble.
