The swing chart has many a lower swing high which should be watched for additional deterioration in price.

Day Four Retrace of Six Day Swing

This move certainly isn’t a strong trend up. A four day retrace is not a good sign – but not the end of the world. The chart from the October 10th low shows somewhat of a cup-with-handle formation. Today was inside the second day of the retrace on lower volume. While not bullish, it does setup a bullish thrust (if that is what the market wants to do).

The NDX is Coiled and the RUT has Cup-with-Handle

In general, the concept is to find the best fundamental stocks that have the highest relative strength and momentum. The list has worked well for me for me over the years. There are several fundamental calculations I use, but the main effort is to find the best Year over Year growth stocks with a ROE over 15.

SPX Cup with Handle in Correct Time Frame
