While I continue to be long term bearish, in the short term, AAPL is looking very bullish. Continue reading

Trading with Gann Fan Techniques

A Gann Fan is nothing more than a slope of a significant range and multiples of that slope. For those of you who have been following my Range Square analysis, you will notice that this is not any different. Continue reading

SPX Short Term - High Volume Move at 50/50 Point
June 18th, 2008 2 Comments
The SPX made a volume move down at the 50/50 point today. This is never a good thing for bulls. But, just as on volume up moves, we need to watch for confirmation of a trend down. Continue reading

How To - Select a Significant Range

This is the first in a series of posts meant to provide a guide to those who have been emailing about my “method”. What I do is very simple. All that is needed is a price data and a tool to plot it. Continue reading

Russell 2000 Breakout
June 5th, 2008 No Comments
The Russell 2000 (RUT) broke out above the 50% price retrace that served as resistance since early May. Unfortunately, time is running out for the total market and the 1:1 descending Gann Angle sits above. Continue reading

PTV-Investing and the Gann Square of 90
June 4th, 2008 4 Comments
My interpretation of the Gann Square of 90 is that it is a very simple method to measure the strength of an entity over the course of a significant time cycle - 90 days. The more I look at Gann squares, the more I believe that Gann was not directly concerned with price. The squares are meant to measure time. Continue reading

PowerShares DB Agriculture Fund
May 29th, 2008 No Comments
The PowerShares Agriculture Fund (DBA) looks interesting. Agriculture futures have been declining since the end of February. Interesting that it has been moving opposite of the market all year. The 50/50 point is very close and this ETF should be watched for the next week or two to see how it reacts. Continue reading

Russell 2000 Walking Gann Angle Plank?
May 28th, 2008 No Comments
The Russell 2000 Index (RUT) bounced off the 50% price retrace line at the high. It has been walking down the 2:1 descending angle for a couple weeks. It may just end up back at the 50% price retrace line at 50% time — which looks to be about mid-June. Continue reading

Russell 2000 Price and Time in Balance
May 14th, 2008 1 Comment
The Russell 2000 (RUT) is right at the 50/50 point and in total balance on the retrace working off the long term move up. This, along with the Value Line Index (VLE) discussed last weekend gives me a much better feeling about the market long term.

The Nasdaq 100 (QQQQ) has broken through the 1:1 descending Gann line and looks set to run to $50 or $51.50. The market seems weak based on the internals, but the price/time charts are looking better every day. Continue reading
