VLE Measures the Market
September 23rd, 2008 No Comments
The Value Line Arithmetic (VLE) is my main index to watch the total market. The intermediate term range from 2007-2008 shows the 1:2 angle as resistance. Today price bounced off that line again. Continue reading

Value Line Arithmetic Remains Above July Low
September 18th, 2008 2 Comments
Price of the VLE is above the July low and at the 7/8 retrace level of the 2007-2008 range. This suggests to me that the total market remains healthy and the financials are causing all of the problems. Continue reading

Weekend Outlook - 13Sep08
September 13th, 2008 4 Comments
Short term the market swing chart is not is great position. I continue to expect (or will not be surprised) by a move to SP500 Index (SPX) 1150. But the situation this fall looks much better. Using the Value Line Arithmetic Index (VLE) as the state of the total market we can see that price and time are in a favor. Continue reading

Intermediate Term Position of Strength
September 3rd, 2008 No Comments
My short term view of the market is that it is very weak and most likely has topped until a retest or new low is put in - probably in October. But the longer term charts show the total market in a strong position when using the July 2007 to July 2008 range. Continue reading

Weekout Outlook Continued - 17Aug08
August 17th, 2008 No Comments
Today I want to look at the various time frames of the VLE. First the long term range from 1990 to 2002. Notice how price never went parabolic as the Nasdaq did in 1998-2000. Therefore it did not really correct until the summer of 2002 when it had a nice shakeout down to the Continue reading

Discussion of why I believe the October low will be “the” low before a new five wave bull market. While the SP500 Index (SPX) e-wave charts do little to support this guess, the total market is in much better shape. Continue reading
